Warm Weather Real
Estate is a full service Mesa, AZ real estate agency, specializing in
residential real estate. Founded in 2012, by Bob Marsh, a licensed
Arizona real estate broker. At present, Warm Weather Real Estate is a
one-man operation.
Marsh pondered a few days about renaming his company, which
was formerly named Bob Marsh Real Estate. He wanted to make the company
marketable and transferrable as an entity. He read that naming your real
estate company with a name other than John Doe Realty. So, in matching
the company name to the area served, he chose Warm Weather Real Estate.
About Bob Marsh, Broker, 40 years' experience
Bob
Marsh began his real estate career in 1977, in Hutchinson, Kansas. After
graduating from the University of Kansas, with a degree in Business
Administration, Marsh began working in the grain business, as a merchandising
clerk for Bartlett Grain, Kansas City, Missouri. After two years there,
his family beckoned him back closer to central Kansas. At the time, the
only sure job he could find was working for grocery giant Dillon Foods,
currently owned by Kroger, which also owns Fry’s Foods. That job lasted a
year – too much friction and competition among the workers.
Bob
took a job as a framing carpenter for Custom Homes, a division of Astle Realty, owned by Joe and Marj Astle and
later their daughter Judy McCool, now in Hutchinson. As he worked the
home building job, he studied for his real estate license. In July, 1977,
he became a full time licensed real estate salesman with Astle Realty. In
1980, he became a licensed associate broker with Astle. Bob enjoyed his
relationship with the Astle family.
Moving on…onward and upward
In 1982, he became an associate broker with John Oswald Real
Estate, operating out of 1128 N. Main, Hutchinson, Kansas. John
Oswald specialized in commercial, land and farm real estate. Bob learned
valuable experience in all these specialties from Oswald. Bob appreciated
his time with John Oswald.
In 1988, Bob opened Bob Marsh Real Estate at 217 W 5th,
Hutchinson, Kansas – a building that is no longer there – across south from the
5th and Adams Dillons Food Store.. While on his own, he learned the value
of advertising daily in the local Hutchinson
News, which no other real estate company in Hutchinson
did at that time.
All America Real Estate
In
1991, he moved that office to 111 E 30th, where he and his wife Norma, then a
real estate broker also, opened All America Real Estate, which later became the
very first RE/MAX office in Hutchinson. They operated this office until
selling the building in 1997, to Jim Davis, who now operates from this
location as Realty

Marsh
enjoyed his Hutchinson real estate career. During his time there he was
able to grow his real estate business, and personally invest in real estate.
Before ending his time there, he acquired 14 rental units – five single
family homes, a duplex, a triplex and a four-plex.
Move to Arizona
In
1998, Bob and Norma loaded up a five foot by eight foot trailer and headed west
– destination
unknown. First stop was Taos, New Mexico, where they had come
over the last mountain following a snow plow, October 29, 1998. After
visiting friends there, they hit the road again looking for much warmer
weather.
Next
stop was Santa Fe, October 30, which they determined was too crowded and a
little more sophisticated than what they wanted. From there they went to
Albuquerque, New Mexico, which turned out to be windier than Kansas – not what
they wanted. Then, on to Flagstaff, October 31, where they couldn’t sleep
because of the trains blaring down the track all night.
Next
stop, Prescott, where Bob had relatives. Again, too cold. After
breakfast, November 1, they headed south on Interstate 17. When they came
in to the Phoenix Metro area, they actually drove all the way through Phoenix,
and realized they were nearly headed for Tucson, when the decided to turn off
on Riggs Road.
The Valley of the Sun!
Friends
staying the winter at a mobile home park in Apache Junction urged them to
visit. So they found the Motel
6 on Idaho Road, and there they spent the night. Next morning,
November 2, 1998, they got up and went to the pool for a swim! Wow!
It was warm enough to swim in November.
Going
back to their room, they picked up the Phoenix Sun Newspaper. In it they
found an ad seeking a couple to assist managing an apartment complex in
Scottsdale, Arizona. They were hired for the job, which lasted about two
months. The job gave them spare time to do odd jobs for different real
estate offices in the Scottsdale area.
December
26, 1998, one of those Scottsdale real estate brokers called and asked them if
they would be interested in managing a 54 unit apartment complex in Tempe, for
a salary and an apartment. There Bob and Norma lived for 6 years.
Then the complex was sold to another owner.
Arizona Real Estate
Broker
Bob then applied for his real estate broker license.
The state gave him credit for the years of property management
experience. He then worked for J. Roberts & Co., Zip Realty, S.J.
Fowler Real Estate, and Solutions Real Estate, before opening Bob Marsh Real
Estate.
In 2014, Bob changed the name of Bob Marsh Real Estate
to Warm Weather Real Estate, and here we are –
right back where we started.
